South Asia Citizens Wire (SACW) dispatches are an emanation of the South Asia Citizens Web (http://www.sacw.net); run on a voluntary basis since 1996, and in a structured (digest) form since 1998. The content is reports (from the mainstream media, autonomous media and unpublished material) and information on implications of the rise of fundamentalist politics and shrinking secular spaces in South Asia; It is intended as a counter information effort for people concerned and interested in issues of peace, secularism and democratisation in or connected to South Asia. * SACW posts are about 70-90 k in size and there is normally one post every 5 - 6 days. ** Sister Initiatives of SACW include: - South Asians Against Nukes [the website not being updated currently but its newsletter is active] http://www.s-asians-against-nukes.org SACW's sister projects include a mailing list on Labour and a web archive initiative To see the collection of prior postings to the list, visit the SACW Archives.

Subscribing to SACW
Subscribe to SACW by filling out the following form. You will be sent email requesting confirmation, to prevent others from gratuitously subscribing you. Once confirmation is received, your request will be held for approval by the list moderator. You will be notified of the moderator's decision by email.
