Leadership Through the Arts Program @ QMA
Cordially invites you to a photographic exhibition

In Sight On Site:

A photographic community journal mapping Corona, Jackson Heights, Flushing
and Jamaica, Queens.

Saturday, January 29, 2005
Queens Museum of Art, Little Theater
2 - 4 PM

Please join us as the participants of the Leadership Through the Arts, a
program where Queens-based youth explore the nexus of social justice and
art-making, exhibit work that paints and defines ŒNew Queens¹. This visual
fusion of photographs, with the guidance of photography instructors Tahir
Hemphill and Scott Smith, takes us on a journey, and provides visibility to
the questions being asked about the tension points, needs, and the unknown
visions of these communities.

Please join us immediately following the exhibition opening for a
**reception** and Community Roundtable discussion, where we as a community
along with special guest community organizers, such as **Bryan Pu-Folkes**
(New Immigrant Community Empowerment) will highlight a specific community
issue and work together to introduce a possible solution. In Sight On Site
opens on January 29th and runs through February 6th.

The Leadership Through the Arts Program at QMA is made possible from the
support of the Ford Foundation.
