assistance! Please visit and support their events and activities

Things at SALAAM Theatre are going well this summer. Our Literary
Manager, Master Anuvab Pal has two of his plays on NYC stages this
summer. CHAOS THEORY can be seen as part of the Fun Festival at The
Pulse Ensemble Theatre thru this Sunday. And his play FATWA (a Citygirl
favorite) has been selected for the NYC International Fringe Festival
'04. Master Pal would personally like to invite SALAAMers to an
exclusive preview of FATWA -- Directed by Michael Barakiva -- Starring
Jerry Matz and Joseph Jamrog on Friday, July 30th at 8PM. Venue:
Gallery Arts India located at 206 Fifth Avenue (at 25th St.), 5th flr.
Tickets: $15 via Pay Pal or $17 at the Door. Presented by Alter Ego
Productions, this evening will feature a reading sampler and live music,
wine and cheese PLUS Gallery Arts India's current exhibition, Herwitz
100, An Affordable Art Show.
We would also like to officially welcome our new Artistic Intern, Ragini
Jain to the SALAAM crew. Ragini is currently a senior at Baruch College
studying Arts Administration. And Priyanka Mathew is keeping busy as
our AWAAZ Play Development Coordinator. Next month, please join SALAAM
3rd Mondays on August 16th at 7PM (the NEW MOON day) for Mrinalini
Kamath's CELESTIAL MOTIONS - Directed by Jorelle Aronovitch.
But before that, we are pleased to cosponsor two very special events
this month. Hope you are all having a wonderful summer and supporting
the arts in some way, some where.
Peace & Much NYC Warmth,
Geeta Citygirl, Artistic Director

- NEW YORK TIMES
"The New York Philharmonic featured...compositions that linked
traditional and Indian and Western...and orchestra piece by Indian
violinist L. Subramaniam...a blend of simple South Asian Indian
melodies...Subramaniam's work was the liveliest offering." -TIME
MAGAZINE
"Subramaniam...very successfully manages to bring East and West
together...Its a tremendous showpiece, given the fabulous microtonal
