World Premiere Collaboration: Ustad Shujaat Khan and Karsh Kale with special
guests Vijay Iyer and Jonathan Maron

Joe's Pub presents 2004 Grammy nominated sitar prodigy Ustad Shujaat Khan
together for the first time with producer and composer Karsh Kale
(tabla/drums).   Special guests include one of the most innovative and
expressive voices in modern jazz, Vijay Iyer on piano, with the rhythmic
inventiveness and funk of Jonathan Maron (Groove Collective/Nerve) on
bass.
This ensemble will play original compositions based on Ustad Shujaat Khan's
repertoires of Indian folk and classical traditions.
