What Occupation Means: Images and Voices from a Trip to Israel & Palestine
Nancy Kanwisher (Prof, Neurobiology at MIT: Faculty for Israeli-Palestinian
Peace)
Silver Center (corner of Washington Square East and Waverley )
Room 208 at NYU
7 PM FEB 9TH

This talk is based on a fact-finding trip Nancy Kanwisher took to Israel &
Palestine in December 2002-January 2003 with a group of American university
professors called Faculty for Israeli-Palestinian Peace. The talk consists
largely of short video clips she shot during the trip of Israelis and
Palestinians talking about the occupation. She will focus primarily on the
effect of the occupation on Palestinian lives, but will also discuss the
relationship between the occupation and Israeli security. She will talk for
about an hour and a half, then would welcome questions and discussion.

Kanwisher is not a Middle East expert; she does research on human visual
neuroscience at MIT.
